AVS Parents' Club 60th Annual Spaghetti Dinner & Auction
On Saturday March 5th, Alexander Valley School will host its 60th Annual Spaghetti Dinner & Auction at the Alexander Valley Hall in Geyserville starting at 5.00 p.m. This year’s theme is the 1950’s, the era when the school held its first Spaghetti Feed.
The auction is Alexander Valley School’s largest fundraiser of the year. Proceeds support art, music, computers; as well as field trips, library books, the school garden and more. The dinner is a homemade meal served with wines and desserts. The salad includes fresh produce grown by the children in their school garden.
Tickets for this fun evening are $15 for adults, $5 for children 5-12 years and free for children under4. Adults can purchase a GoVino wine glass to sample wines for an additional $10. Tickets will be available at the door starting at 5.00 p.m.
The silent and live auctions are generously supported by local businesses and wineries. Items include private dinners, overnight adventures and premium wine lots. This year a featured wine experience is a Rockpile tour, tasting and lunch with Clay Mauritson, which includes a 4 pack of Rockpile Magnums. Adults can also try their luck choosing a mystery wine bottle from a vintage riddling rack.
Senator Mike McGuire is returning as the energetic and charismatic auctioneer. Last year Mike encouraged the crowd to support the school and helped to raise over $80,000. This year’s class auction items include the 1st grade’s handcrafted soda fountain and bar, a wine barrel fire pit from the kindergarten class, and a 50’s style “Mocktails & Cocktails” table decorated by the 4th grade.
Each year the auction is dedicated to a person or persons who have supported and contributed to the success of the school. This year that honor goes to The Wasson/Munsell Family, whose heritage spans over 100 years in Alexander Valley.
